It’s been a long week but thank God that the weekend is pretty much here.
This week I’m thankful for the people I’ve been blessed to e-meet through this blog, the non-bloggers who read. It’s really touching to receive emails from someone who has taken the time to read your entries and is full of encouragement or positive words. From Esosa to Princess to Deola, I feel so blessed to have met these beautiful women. I hope we’ll meet in person one day!
I’m also thankful for the unusually warm November we have been having. It is unheard for us to have had as many sunny days this month as we have but there are no complaints. The temperature is still above zero degrees most of the time so it’s really bearable. Some years the ground is already covered in snow and the temperature well below zero at this time. November is often one of the most depressing months in my corner of the world but not this year!
I’m also thankful that I have money to spend on my wants rather than only my needs (though I’m thankful for that too). God has provided us with more than we need (can I hear an Amen?)! There are many things I buy that I definitely don’t need. For example, I ordered a few gel ink pens. The official reason I ordered them is to use to write my Christmas cards but in reality I have a million pens I could use already at home. Think of all the small things that you spend your change on without thinking twice. For those of us who blog or read blogs, God knows that blogging (or reading blogs) isn’t a right or need (though sometimes it seems we must blog or explode with excitement, anger or whatever emotion is with us). Whether you blog from your own computer or frequent an internet café (special shoutout to Have You Any Wool), it is a privilege to be able to do so, so I’m thankful for it. And Vera deserves a shoutout too for being such a professional. In fact, let me save my gushing for a separate entry.
Finally, I’m thankful for the brave men who have signed up for my online dating project. It’s not easy to put yourself out there and I pray that this proves successful for all of these guys. Just to update you: nine guys have signed up and one application is pending. If you’re still considering signing up, remember: the deadline to submit your profile is 11:59pm EST on Sunday November 22, 2009. Please send your email to firstname.lastname@example.org . This email should include your Name or nickname, Age, Location and Additional information about you or what you’re looking for. Please remember that only serious men need apply.
I was also encouraged by the results of the poll I have up for the women on my last post. I asked if the women reading this blog would be willing to respond if they saw an interesting profile and of the 36 voters so far, five said they would not, while 31 would! That’s encouraging isn’t it?
